About September nostalgia. My love for trees is endless. This design is taken from a photo taken of the forest next to my apartment in Berlin. I have reworked the format to try and capture the beauty of the light at the end of summer, when it flickers through the branches; its softness. The sense of nostalgia everyone feels when summer is over, when we head towards winter solstice and the days are getting shorter. This design reminds me of September days on the beach as a kid, when you don't really understand the logic of seasons yet, but you can feel that the air is different, slightly colder, the sun more gentle on the skin. My mom would wrap me in a towel and I would sit on the sand listening to the wind and the waves, looking at the pines nearby. I don't have that many childhood memories but this is a feeling I do remember. The photo taken by Charlotte couldn't have captured this shawl better.
