About contemplation. My great-grandparents had a series of anatomy books that I read growing up. Some of the content is probably outdated by now but I was always fascinated by the illustrations and to this day I enjoy going through anatomy drawings. It's the same kind of enjoyment you'd get from watching a gore movie, I guess. I came across this image and was drawn to the grace of the arm raised next to the head: nonchalant, contemplative, gazing at an invisible horizon. This type of pose is often used in arts to express self-reflection. The skulls around it are from my doodle collection.
