About the waves of emotions. I have a natural tendency to let myself sink in melancholy, to bathe in it. It is comfy, it is warm, it is - oh so wonderfully - self indulging. I visualise it as a succession of waves, like a movement, a tempo. This year I decided to try and change my approach and to simply appreciate these emotions. As they are beautiful, they are part of life. But instead of getting overwhelmed by them, I tried to swim through the waves; not to resist but to pace myself with them. Sometimes they take me far into the deep but I know I’ll always get back to the shore. This shawl is a reminder that whatever happens: trust yourself. You’ll always find a way to swim back. And if you're taken in the waves, just enjoy the ride.
